The Art of
Stafford Taylor is a Racine, Wisconsin based-artist formerly of Malibu (CA), Santa Barbara (CA), and Minneapolis (MN), and originally from the Delaware Valley (PA).
He makes acrylic mono-types with rust and intricate ink drawings of symbols and celestial patterns related to creativity and the sub- conscious.
Influenced by the Brandywine Tradition in American art and trained at the Philadelphia College of Art and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Stafford is an alumnus of the Walker Art Center and Minnesota Museum of American Art exhibition department.
As a master carpenter, Stafford has a history of eclectic art projects and his work is represented in homes and collections nationally.
His most recent work is a mono-type that is made of a cover sheets of brush marks from the backs of previous mono-types.
In 2018, Stafford was assaulted and the resulting Traumatic Brain Injury with the love of family and friends, pulled him into the life he has today.
